LW scented candles | The Snake & The Octopus

the Story | the Snake :

Snakes are winding in silver thru vetiver grass, that with the strongest of roots,
growing vertically in the dark beneath, like underground curtains.
Rising up against the light and the potent green, is the scent of sandal wood.

the Story | the Octopus

The octopus carry no scent or no skeleton but three hearts,
as it moves skillfully & serene in the empire of endless motion that is water.
In concurrence with the attraction of the moon it tell tales of illusion,
sending poetry in ink to disappear, leaving their attacker fogged and bewildered
left only in depth & darkness.
This depth, to us, has to carry the scent leaving us in vertigo;
that of roasted dark coffee & animal-like musk.
All for the three hearts.

These LW scented candles are hand-crafted & massive,
made of a natural palm wax blend, derived from sustainable palm kernel oil,
- which is a natural alternative to petroleum based wax,
offering a cleaner & much longer burn time.

The candle is then placed in a ceramic jar that illustrator & warrior Sara N Bergman,
has designed for Love Warriors, ~ & that, after it’s burnt out
{you’re gonna need patience here, cause these bad boys burn for a looOoong time.}
are stunning for cotton, q tips or that bath salt refill in the bathroom,
all kinds of nick-nacks on a work desk, or, - as we use ours;
as coffee cups.. oh, how perfect with a lid when you’re passionate
about what you do and tend to forget the coffee by your side.
not to mention the cool factor of serving guests like that..
.. we imagine a dinner table set with these beauties as holding the starter,
on top of the other ceramics*; hiding a fabulous soup,
~ or on the side; concealing a dark, sumptuous hot chocolate fudge cake.
yum!

We’ve been enjoying a few magic days shooting LW summer’14.
And also, you’ve been such sweethearts over on instagram,
~ cheering as if you were actually there with us a bit;
enjoying the new treasures flooded with light & good vibes.
We’re working on full warrior capacity to bring you
all these new goodies as soon as possible,
~ & are aiming at the end of May
for things to start appearing in the shop.

From small details with big love,
~ like the handmade LW 'feather festoon’s';
garlands of cotton & naturally stunning feathers,
connected with gold; for decorating children’s rooms,
grown-up-children’s rooms, parties, weddings,
~ & to just hold beauty and whisper of hope,
as do the lovely feather pencils..

holy cow !

On each and every Love Warriors treasure hunting trip
there seem to be one of those extra magical places,
ostensibly just opening up behind an old door or, as in this case;
a whole saga behind a sweet little old man.

One of those times where it’s hard to hold back the tears,
~ & the deliriously happy vertigo sets in.
Up and down the stairs we climbed,
only to find more & more beautiful vintage treasures
to bring home. Among many others, we found these stunning
old deer pieces, which kind of had us thinking about
Indian holy cows {and yes, say holy cow !}.
Boldly big & completely boho beautiful with old shell inlays
in intricate patterns. Oh, sigh ..

Our vintage-pots-guy was such a treat this time,
~ the delight of seeing the collaboration of his & our designer's
hands, bringing about new Love Warriors pieces
in a language of paint & brushes, beyond any other kind
of language barriers. True bliss. Well, she had us at hello
with her sketches, as usual, ~ pretty enough to print & frame

Busy Bali days. We got to check on the new Love Warriors
scented candles too, before they are shipped out. We’ll be bringing you
two new, handpicked {or shall we say scent-picked} lovely 'flavours' in
handmade ceramic jars, one with an octopus & the other, a snake.
Here’s little sneak peek previews carrying the scent of a cobra sliding thru
vetiver grass & sandalwood and the other a scent of kopi luwak, the rarest gourmet coffee
in the world, which we thought needed a touch of tender vanilla
to be held by an octopus, ~ that three hearted stunning animal
just had to be part of the Love Warrior crew..

indian summer - the scents

scent has something magic to it, already in its name somehow,
~ & we’ve probably all had experiences of time travel in its company.
one of our most magic experiences involving scent at all,
must be the hours we spent selecting top, ~ & base notes for these,
our first scented candles. just the setting.. an all white little candle factory
in the outskirts of the jungle; where the american owner had a longterm standing
collaboration with the world capital of perfume; grasse in france.

we travelled, in many ways, together that glowing afternoon;
carefully opening tiny apothecary bottles in long rows,
labelled with their special perfume, ~ & mixing these, our three
final scents to start off with. a light, airy one; later named love and linen,
a ’middle one’, with flowery tones and history,
~ & a heavier one, with musky chocolate. something for each taste.

we would sit and listen to their stories of the scents,
~ & one in particular we so enjoyed; having seen both men and
woman wear a flower behind their ear in the little town.
we were taught the chempaka flower is used for worship in the temples,
but also worn as a sign, behind the ear of singles, to send the
fragrant & beautiful message that they are looking for love.

and now, as the indian summer selection has launched,
we are so happy to take you along with us, on this, our first fragrance journey..
we’re all children in the beginning as we say in swedish,
~ & we’d love some of your constructive feedback on our first attempt.

just stopping by to tell you guys who doesn’t frequent
instagram so much, what it is that we’re up to at the moment.
we’re filling up both the warrior headquarters and the
web-shop with goodies, ~ & are getting ready to
open the doors to our indian summer selection
for you lovelies in a couple of weeks. yay !

boho chic norwegian long-haired sheepskins,
our own heart, ~ and handmade temple flower ceramics,
shell deco for all you mermaids out there, peace-stools
from recycled teak, the highly wished for laser cut leather bags,
the already in high demand skull candles, our own series of
scented candles & more is making its way in to le shop..

le shop is btw also getting a summer touch up as we speak.
after the somewhat tumultuous, ~ & completely lovely
welcoming you guys gave it earlier this spring,
it needed some Tender Loving Care;
and now we’re all about polishing edges, sprinkling
diamond in the rough-dust, milking butterflies
and turning it up to eleven.

bring in fresh flowers, pot plants,
clean out the house and start afresh,

in a more airy fashion.

summer 14 is in the house

Last years treasure hunt is behind the warriors,
and as we’ve returned from the battlefield,
brought home the treasures bit by bit,
~ & collected them in the store for you lovely pirates,
it is now your time to go hunting..

We’ve packed this LW summer collection’14
full of love, ~ & hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we are.
It’s jam-packed with everything from smaller details,
like the feathery love letter pencils,
that comes in white, black & thundersky
{a stunning bluish grey we adore}..

.. to kick-ass bigger pieces like the LW petrified wood tables or pallets ..

{We literally stopped in our tracks seeing the stunning
works of art that is petrified wood, tucked away in a secret street,
that suddenly turned into heaven.
From a distance at first we thought it was wood,
but hurrying closer, - & then stroking the pieces, sighing with delight,
we realized it was stone. Or to be more exact, - this amazing
material petrified wood (which we think is a funny name too, as it
sounds as if someone scared it into stone) is a million year (!)
natural fossil process of turning wood into stone.
Left are those breathtakingly beautiful, completely unique,
- & über cool pieces of the magic of nature eternalized,
which we couldn’t wait to bring home
as LW tables or pallets and plates or cheese boards.
We often fall crazy in love on our treasure hunts, but some
loves truly are eternal & timeless. These pieces are exactly that.}

.. then there’s the whole lot of handpicked, ~ & handmade,
heart chosen, ~ & heart sketched goodies in between;
all to be discovered by you now..

Many of you are anxious to get a hold of prints etc
from the Warriors of the World series,
starting with the four first warriors, - & they will be
launching indian summer’14; around August.
