We at Love Warriors hope that we are no different than anyone else when it comes to concern about the environment. If everyone could spend some more time and energy on how to help getting a long-term solution for a sustainable world, we would come a little closer in making it possible. Every way and each idea are good and even the smallest thing makes a difference. That’s why we always take into account how the environment is affected when we develop and produce our products. Follow our work on this page and learn what we do for protection of our environment and to increase sustainability.

Digital vs Offset

Love Warriors prefers digital print to offset. The reason being that we can print smaller series each time and we do not risk overproduction of our photo art that may end risk ending up in the bin later on. We still use offset, but only when large volumes are are asked for and produced.

Environmentally certified printing house

Love Warriors moved all printmaking back to Sweden in 2015. Quality, but especially our concern for the environment was the reason. Here in Sweden, and just minutes from our office, lies our printing company TMG. In their daily work, efforts are being made to reduce negative impact from their production. They are constantly working on environmental improvement measures and ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and regulatory requirements. For TMG, and also Love Warriors, environmental work is strategically important and a prerequisite for our long-term ability to improve our environment. There are a variety of environmental labels. Below you will find three relevant to our business which place hard demands on their users.

• ISO 14001

ISO 14001 is an internationally accepted standard, which provides the basis for environmental management and can be used in all types of organizations in all types of industries. TMG Sthlm is environmentally certified according to 14001.

• Svanen

Svanen (svanen.se) sets high environmental and climate requirements. The svanen certificate guarantees:

– that the company uses products with the least possible environmental impact

– that a substantial part of the paper consumed in the print shop is approved by Svanen

– that the company works to minimize hazardous waste.

TMG Sthlm is a Svanen licensed printing company. This means that we can Svanen-label the printed products we make at TMG.

• FSC®

FSC® (fsc-sverige.org) is a traceability routine that works for environmentally-friendly, socially responsible and economically viable use of the world’s forests. FSC® is an abbreviation for Forest Stewardship Council®.

TMG Sthlm is FSC® certified. This means that you can use FSC® label printed matter produced by us, provided the paper you want to print is FSC® marked.

We are active in FSC® product areas 8.1, 8.2, 8.8.

• Recycling

  Sweden is a world champion when it comes to recycling. Today more than 70 percent of all printed products are recycled. Paper production in which recycled paper is mixed with fresh wood fibers reduces energy consumption by up to 80 percent.

  Love Warriors has from time to time products being returned from customers because they have been damaged during transportation or maybe a customer surprisingly did not get what was expected.  Sometimes we get prints from our printing company that have some flaws, such as a splash of paint, a scratch in a corner or something else.

  We have been thinking on how to make use of  these prints, rather than  just throwing them in the bin. Our solution was to start the Love Warriors outlet shop on our website. Here you can find more or less damaged prints and other products that come at a very favorable price. We are very clear about what is wrong with the product and allow the customer to decide if there is a value to it, or not. This gives both Love Warriors and all our customers the opportunity to help out in reducing waste and environmental impact. The outlet shop was just recently started, but we already see a success story coming out of it.

  Sustainable material  

  • Tyvek®

  DuPont™ Tyvek® is a unique nonwoven material only from DuPont. Tyvek® is made of pure high density polyethylene fibers randomly laid and compressed to form a remarkably tough printing substrate that is ideal for all applications where durability & tear resistance are of prime importance. Tyvek® can resist repeated folding and flexing without tearing. It can also be glued, laminated, sewn, stapled and fixed.
  Tyvek® combines the performance of paper, film and extile. Because of its unique physical properties, Tyvek®has already been successfully used for a wide variety of applications such our, photo art. Tyvek is made of high-density polyethylene fibres (HDPE), Tyvek® is 100% recyclable just like plastic bottles.

  We do not think you should, but:   If you, in the future, have to throw away a Tyvek print, do it at the nearest recycling station in the plastic packaging container and you will feel you have done something good for the environment.

  • Paper

  Scandia 2000 is a premium offset paper with many uses which is manufactured at Lessebo mill in Sweden. Scandia 2000 is characterized by its natural whiteness, high opacity, bulk and paper feeling. Also available as Scandia 2000 Smooth with a smoother finish. With 2 different surfaces, 3 different white shades, 13 weights from 80-440 g.
  Scandia 2000 is for most printed matter where high quality is important.

  Scandia 2000 meets the requirements for swan(svanen)-labeled paper and can be included in swan(svanen)-labeled printed products – FSC; 100 % ECF-pulp and ISO 14001

  Projects

  • Carbon Offset

  Carbon Offset or Climate compensation, means that a certain amount of greenhouse gas emissions, measured in tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalents (CO2e), which have not been managed internally, are climate-compensated by measures outside of their own operations. This can be done by investing in projects for renewable energy, energy efficiency, tree planting or forest conservation projects. In order for a measure to be classified as climate compensation, it should be based on a certification standard that is internationally accepted.
  Love Warriors looks at how to compensate for climate through collaborations and projects that are close to our values. We have started a collaboration with our printing company TMG on how much our print production really affects the environment in terms of emissions of different kinds. The ambition is to figure out how much it would represent in value per kg from the production of our print. After that we can decide how we want to compensate and there are many different certified projects for this. We will come back when we reach this point.
