“Born free, chased by fire. Her story speaks to the warrior heart and we speak of her.
Don't let the human hand feed you—stay safe, stay free, and hide in the deepest forest.”
Fajar, the baby orangutan, is a true warrior soul. Rescued from the burning forests of Sumatra during a devastating fire, she was saved by the brave hands of the Indonesian government and brought to a rehabilitation center. Her future is wild — and free — where it belongs.
In this portrait, Fajar's warrior mark, painted through image editing, symbolizes her strength. Because human contact is limited for her protection — as humans remain her greatest threat. Too many orangutans are stolen, their mothers killed, and their lives turned into captivity. Forests are burned to make way for palm oil plantations — a tragedy Love Warriors stands against, choosing beeswax over palm oil in our candles.
This portrait is part of a mission: to remember, to protect, and to change.
A Love Warriors collaboration with Balinese photographer Andika Dana Pratama.
